Rejoice in the Lord!

Saturday, May 06, 2006

Yesterday during cell, we were learning about worship. During our group discussion, Esther brought up a point which struck me. She said that she heard Pst Keith saying the nowadays people have stopped whistling....the joy in people seems to be lost. In our worship to God, how many Christians still exhibit exhuberant joy?

Hebrews12:28 says:"Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29 for our "God is a consuming fire" ".

Everything about our lives ought to be a worship to God....and I think God delights when we are joyful, in joy we can do many things that we often think we cannot...cos the joy of the Lord is our strength. In difficult times, we can be joyful cos joy is not dependent on circumstances, but joy comes from the Lord. However, I feel that we have to make a choice about it! Do we wanna wallow in despair or choose to tell God that we want to be joyful in Him?

Of course this is oft easier said than done....so all the more we need to pray for God to help us to be joyful in all circumstances!

First Week!

Conquered my first week of work! Yeah!!

Thank God that I'm starting to get used to it :) And I think I might really enjoy what I do there too! Been given a project to do that has to be completed in August...Have already done up my project time-line. Going to dedicate next week to doing up the plans to execute the project.

My sup was also so nice to give me a welcome treat at a nearby air-con eating place which sells Shanghainese food...I had a Zha Jiang La Mian (Fried sauce noodles) and we ordered a basket of Xiao Long Bao too :) Not too bad, but of course it cannot compare to Ding Tai Feng...the real one in Shanghai itself!

Clown musical practice was tiring...we practiced till 11:15pm on thurs! But well, it's all for GOD's glory...He'll honour our efforts, and every effort put in is an effort to bring someone to the saving grace of Christ! I'm really looking forward to this....it's actually rather stressful as we have the arranger of the music practice with us, and he's a pro!

Playing the piano is not longer just playing chords and have no fixed style....In the musical, everyone's a part of the team....I gotta try to play the same way every single time! But well, I guess this is a way to push myself to improve in my piano playing...I'm stressed, but also looking forward to it at the same time :)

Praise the Lord!

First Day at work!

Tuesday, May 02, 2006

I'm not used to the corporate setting....the office is big and different department and divisions are seated together in the same office....gone are the feelings of cozy-ness of a small setup with less than 15 ppl.

My colleagues are nice....but guess the environment is simply different. I won't say I enjoyed myself very much today....it's not as vibrant and lively and bubbly as I had hope it would be...hehe..maybe let me bring some life to the place!!

Guess I gotta grow up...I already expected that I would not get another work environment like Daybreak, but we all gotta move on...I'm sure there's somethings that are lovable about the new place too :)

Looking forward to brighter days ahead!

Btw, I attempted to make oreo cheesecake yesterday, here's a picture..yeah!

Birthday party of my future niece..

Monday, May 01, 2006

Yesterday I went with Hun's family to his cousin's daughter's birthday party. We were celebrating her 3rd birthday.

We had home-cooked food made by his cousin's mother-in-law... and the food was great!! There was curry chicken, vinegar pig's trotters, fried mixed vegetables, lotus root soup, vegeterian dishes....etc. The food was delicious, but alas Hun and I didn't get to eat our fill...cos we were one of the earlier guests and hence felt very paiseh to hog the table space...we tried a little of each and could only stare at the rest...but anyway, we went for supper after we left the party...haha...

The coffeeshop beside NTUC in clementi central has be re-opened after reno, and it's called Vari Nice Cafe...it's the same as the one at Yishun...both used to be S-11..may S-11 changed name liao...dunno? It has a slightly zen feel to it, but the stalls are still pretty much the same except that there's now a dim sum stall next to the drinks stall.

Now...why am I mentioning the coffeeshop? dunno lah...just typing away whatever comes to my head...haha....ok, enough of crap! It's time to get ready for lunch now :)

You'll hear more from me again...
